A philharmonic orchestra seeking a silent solution may seem unusual, but Elbphilharmonie’s need for silence is at the heart of this unique lighting project. The magnificent concert hall of Hamburg reached out to Coemar, and its German partner distributor VisionTwo, both to find more modern and energy-efficient solutions and to optimize the stage lighting. After initial trials, the chromatic resolution and light distribution of the LEDko projector seemed like the perfect option. However Elbphilharmonie’s requirements went beyond the already-existing product. Although the projector met the lighting and sustainability standards, its noise level was unacceptable. As a result, the research and development team set out to create a silent version of the LEDko and within a few months, the LEDko SHHH was patented. The effectiveness of this new version lies in its fanless engine, which cools the LED light without generating any noise. For this reason the Coemar LEDko SHHH became the perfect solution for the concert hall, which now shines under the glow of 180 LEDko SHHH units. Furthermore, the 70% decrease of energy consumption proves that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand. Coemar’s commitment to customer allowed the transition from outdated technology to innovative, high-performance solutions.
